Mochi Jacket

Sale price₹ 42,000.00

Pieces of delicately crafted Mochi embroidery were carefully extracted from an old 'kapdu' or blouse to create this jacket. The mid-thigh-length jacket is made from a dusty lavender silk organza and has long sleeves and pockets.

Mochi embroidery uses very fine chain stitches that cover the ground entirely. Produced for nobility, common motifs included the peacock, parrots, and the eight-petalled flower, executed in a concentric gradation of colours.
