Seven Indian Trees

This collection of large scale prints is made up of silhouettes of foliage from seven trees that are ubiquitous across rural and urban India, and form a very important part of both it’s geographical and cultural landscape- Neem, Peepal, Gulmohar, Palm, Badaam, Ashoka and Aam. The prints explore the magic of black and white and colour with shadow, especially as back lit panels that bring a sense of tranquility from the outdoors into a living space.

The artworks, each measuring 6 feet by 4 feet can be hung as a series or as individual pieces. Other ideas, such as stickering for a retail space that screen the view outside, wall and table mounted lamps, stationery, furnishings etc extend the scope of the artwork by lending it a practical purpose.
