A full-length jacket cut in panels and open down the centre front, with a concealed placket and beaded collar. The jacket features hand-embroidered motifs made from recyled cutting waste, appliquéd onto a textured silk cotton base. The motifs are interspersed with beadwork on the front yoke and the cuffs. This soft four-layered jacket is fully lined with silk.
This project aims to create work for a group of women from Pindharada village, Gujarat, who have been recently taught sewing by SOACH NGOas part of a livelihood generation initiative. The appliqué embroidery is done by a separate group of women artisans who work from their homes in Ahmedabad.
