The Patan set is inspired in part by the patola textiles of Patan, Gujarat, and equally by beadwork from Saurashtra and Kutch. Motifs like the parrot, elephant, and flower, which appear on the famed Ikat textiles, as well as various beaded objects such as torans, chaklas, hanging ornaments, and hand fans, are embroidered across the body of this gold zari odhna (dupatta) within a diamond grid that is worked using pitta embroidery.

A matching gold lehenga and blouse with different sheens, both woven with tissue, complete the set. Please see the onion pink lehenga for a design variant in the Lakshmi section.
