Cosmos Saree
A rani pink silk saree featuring hand-drawn motifs embroidered with gold and silver pitta (beaten metal) work. The idea behind this design was a celebration of all that makes up life - birds like parrots and peacocks, fish, deer, horses and elephants, a tiger, dancing women and children, a stately home, flowers and banana trees, the sun, and the moon. The motifs appear on the end panel (pallu) and the upper half of the saree when it is worn, while the rest of the body is embroidered with dots. The saree is finished with a vermilion silk trim along the borders.
