Description

A madder red organza silk jacket with tiny gathers at the sides and back and a beaded shawl collar. The front and collar feature appliqué work made from leftover cutouts from previous seasons in shades of madder and burgundy. Paired with a madder-red silk slip and pants. The organza silk base features tiny batik dots. The jacket is free-size.

This project provides work for a group of women from Pindharada village, Gujarat, recently taught sewing by Soach NGO as part of a livelihood-generation initiative. The appliqué embroidery is done by artisans working from their homes in Ahmedabad.
